Personal Time With the Lord

Subject: Personal Time With The Lord
Written by Lewis Turner

Over the years, I have been able to have some personal time with the Lord. I will admit that that while time has not always been consistent, my thoughts throughout the day to focus on the Lord and what He is doing. I want to share some of the items that are a part of my personal time with the Lord.

Personal time with the Lord
• Time to read God's Word
• Time to meditate on the Word of God
• During the time of meditation and reflection on God’s Word, the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart. Whe He does, personal time give me opportunity to take to listen & journal
• Time to sort issues
• Time to focus away from work or other cares
• Time for personal prayer and personal requests
• Time for praise and worship of God
• Time to care for my personal needs and also ask the Lord to help me be able to focus on the other person when I pray.

Also, seek the Lord's guidance for the challenges of the day.
When take personal time with the Lord, you may see only a few of the above elements of the above listing in a particular day, but that time alone with the Lord is still very important. The personal time with the Lord, will help you when you spend time in prayer with others.

There is a song, 'More time alone with thee Lord Jesus, More time alone with thee'. The more time we spend alone with the Lord, the more we will desire it.

Isaiah 58

6. Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7. Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward.
9. Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10. And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11. And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

To God Be the Glory—Great Things He has Done!

I saw a lady in tears when her feet were washed and she received new shoes. Does not God see that and bottles up those tears?

Actions of Love—speak more words than a picture.

A note—I met a Vietnamese Pastor who pastured a church in Springfield Va. I shared with him that I had been in Thailand, but that the language was different. I shared with him in Thai that Jesus Loves Him—Though the language was different, he seem to understand me.

God saw us reach out to others in the Love of Christ—The Love of Christ is a universal language that speaks to hearts.

Yes, God will do great things when we lift Jesus up!!!!
